Shabbat Morning Torah Service

Description

Our Saturday morning Shabbat Torah service is smaller and more casual than our Friday evening services. The Torah service includes a lot of singing and reading of prayers and blessings, as well as engaging educational discussions and moments of peaceful silence.

Rabbi Reice leads the Saturday morning service from the congregational area, rather than from up on the bimah, with our Torah Scroll on a table in front of everyone, which gives the service both a sacred and intimate feeling to it. During the Torah Service, Rabbi Reice also chants from the Torah Scroll and reads Haftarah, while those in attendance have the opportunity to volunteer for honors.

The service is geared for adults, but families, teens, and children below the age of b'nai mitzvah are always welcome to attend and participate in the service in the sanctuary as well. There is no childcare available on Saturday mornings, however, so if little ones get the 'wiggles', they can always continue to enjoy the service from the quiet room at the back of the sanctuary with parental supervision (there is audio in this room, as well as a great viewing area, so parents can still see and hear the service, while soothing babies or entertaining little ones as needed).
